I have worked earnestly and collaboratively with Kyrene staff,
other board members, and community members to serve
as an engaged and informed school board member.

I have NEVER missed a Governing Board study session or meeting since being elected in 2008. I also attend numerous committee and task force meetings, school and community events. I have met with staff from every department to learn about facilities, transportation, food services, curriculum & learning, community education & outreach services, human resources, maintenance, technology, and business services.

There are 19 elementary schools and 6 middle schools
in the Kyrene School District: 6 in Tempe, 7 in Chandler, and
12 in the Ahwatukee/Foothills areas of Phoenix,
and I visit EVERY school!

I consistently communicate with parents, students, teachers,
support staff, and administrators to better understand the various aspects of educational programs, resources, budgets,
policies, teaching, and learning.

I am proud to have earned an Associate of Boardsmanship award from the Arizona School Boards Association for completing valuable training in areas such as school board leadership, fiscal management, policies, facilities, communications, and school law.

There are three non-partisan open seats on the Kyrene school board
in this General Election,
please cast one of your 3 votes for Michelle Hirsch.

In my service on the Kyrene Governing Board, I have been instrumental in important policy updates, improving communications within our community, encouraging engagement of residents in school district issues, overseeing fiscal accountability and balanced budgets, and encouraging consistent board discussions and evaluations.

I value quality public education and
enjoy working to help ALL students achieve their best.

An excellent school district has a positive impact on our entire community -- educated citizens, a well-qualified work force, attracting businesses, economic growth, increasing employment opportunities, and contributing to a desirable real estate market.

"America's future walks through the doors of our schools each day."
~ Mary Jean Le Tendre

Kyrene is an excellent school district and
I am committed to continuing to work
as your Governing Board member
to help support excellence.

If re-elected, I will continue to study issues, solicit feedback from the people impacted by decisions, to promptly address issues and concerns, to do the necessary homework to be prepared for meetings and votes, to review pertinent background information and data, to make informed decisions, to work collaboratively, and always consider the best interest of students, teachers, support staff, and our community.

to Paul -- my wonderful & supportive husband of 29 years,
to Will, Tanner, and Preslie --my children who inspire me to do my best,
to my friends who are the best people I know,

and in this re-election campaign.

I am honored to have the endorsement of the
